Tickets should be requested in writing so that we can send you updated information on this event as well as a `75th Anniversary Astronomical Debate Educational Package.' If you are coming in from out of town, hotel information is given at the bottom of this page.

75th Anniversary Astronomical Debate

No one will be admitted without a (free) ticket.

Location: Smithsonian's Natural History Museum, Baird Auditorium, Constitution Ave. at 10th St. NW, Washington, DC. This is the same auditorium where the original Shapley - Curtis Debate was held in 1920. This event is sponsored by: NASA, The Smithsonian, and George Mason University.

Time: Saturday, 22 April 1995. The debate programs begins promptly at 1:00 pm. The program is scheduled to go to 4:00 pm with an intermission. There are tentative plans for a reception to follow.

Tickets will be mailed starting in January 1995.

Hotel Information: A block of rooms has been reserved for Friday and Saturday nights, 21-22 April 1995 at the Holiday Inn at 550 C Street SW, Washington, DC, 20024. Please phone 202-479-4000 and ask for the discount rate ($115.00 per night not including tax) associated with the `Astronomical Debate.' The hotel is about 7 blocks from the site of the debate and one block from the National Air and Space Museum. The DC Mall area is shown on this map.
